TLC MAMA CATS & BABIES NEED FOSTER HOMES!

Kitten season is in full swing right now! Ten Lives Club is overflowing with Mama cats & their newborns, pregnant cats and orphaned kittens.  These cats and kittens MUST be in foster care so they can stay healthy and in a quiet setting away from all the other cats in our shelter.  Please consider fostering for Ten Lives Club this kitten season.  More foster homes are desperately needed!

New Mamas and their babies need to be away from so many other cats so they don't get sick.  They are very vulnerable and fragile at this stage and need to be in foster homes until they are big enough to find their forever homes.  Can you open your heart and home to foster a new mama and her babies for just 10 to 12 weeks?  Ten Lives Club will provide Purina cat and kitten food to those who can foster for us!

Ten Lives pulled 3 very sickly four week old kittens with terrible eye infections from the Buffalo City Shelter on Tuesday.

Two of the three kittens are shown in the picture to the left.  These poor babies are very sick and don't have a mother.

Our vet staff gave these babies fluids and treated them with eye medications. Unfortunately, they may lose their eyes because of the severe infections they are suffering.

Pictured right is a healthy new Mama who just had a litter of 4 babies. She and her newborns were also pulled from the Buffalo City Shelter on Tuesday.

Her babies (pictured left) are only a few days old and still have their eyes shut.

This new Mama kitty and her newborn kittens need a foster home so they can stay healthy.

TO FOSTER for Ten Lives Club, please call 716-646-5577 TODAY!

Melody's Video Debut Finds Lara Her Forever Home!

MELODY
When Melody was the featured cat video on AllPaw's FB page for October 29, a lady saw it & called about adopting her the very same day. WONDERFUL! Springville is at least a 40 - 45 minute drive to East Amherst so she was obviously very serious & couldn't wait to meet Melody!

Nina had recently lost one of her 2 kitties & her other kitty seemed lonely. We met at the Pet Supplies "Plus" E. Amherst store that afternoon so she could meet Melody & finalize her adoption.  I had pre-qualified her before she drove so far for a meet & greet.

Her son wanted to visit with Zazu so I let him out as well. Melody was ALL PLAY - as usual!  Harry was napping, but pretty soon Lara starting poking her paw out & seemed overly eager to visit with the guests.

LARA
As soon as I opened Lara's cage door, she went directly to Nina & her son.  She began rubbing around their legs, purring loudly. She jumped right into Nina's lap & curled up as if to say "I'm ready to go home with you"!

Struggling with the decision of leaving Melody - who she had really wanted to take home & still did - Nina knew in her heart it was Lara who was meant to go home with them. Lara had made that abundantly clear to her AND her son - who had fallen in love with her almost the minute she stepped out of her cage.

It was synchronicity - Melody had drawn Nina & her son to the cat room, but it was Lara's turn that day to find her forever home!  Nina says Lara has fit right into their household as if she's always been a part of their family!

Feral Cat Stories: From Rescue To Love - by Susan L. Sellingsloh

http://smile.amazon.com/Feral-Cat-Stories-From-Rescue/dp/1495945960/ref=lh_ni_t?ie=UTF8&psc=1&smid=ATVPDKIKX0DER

Good Friend & Animal Advocate of Ten Lives Club - Susan Sellingsloh - recently published "Feral Cat Stories", available on Amazon

Susan captures the struggles, challenges, and joys of the people who discover feral cats and take action to help them.

All 23 stories are based in Western New York, an area that includes Buffalo and Niagara Falls.  Ten Lives Club and community volunteers who focus on maintaining some groups of feral colonies are included in several of the stories throughout Susan's book.

People find help from Feral Cat FOCUS, a non-profit organization providing fundamental services for feral and free-roaming cats.

The stories show how the Trap-Neuter-Vaccinate-Return (TNVR) program not only stops the cycle of unwanted reproduction but gives the cats and their caregivers the transition from rescue to love.

This beautifully illustrated book will not only entertain you, but educate and inspire you.

All royalties from the sale of this book will go to Feral Cat FOCUS of Western New York

Please purchase a copy of "Feral Cat Stories" and help support Sharon, Feral Cat Focus and their vision to help reduce and manage the overwhelming numbers of feral cats who need help and assistance!

So if a high security deposit is keeping you from getting a cat, talk to your landlord and we can help.  You will need to show a proper lease agreement at the time of adoption to qualify for the $300 pet deposit assistance.
